What you are buying

The Backyard Composting Manual is a digital book delivered as a PDF file — 137 pages, 90 chapters, First Edition, 2026. There is no physical product, and nothing is shipped. Delivery is by instant download through Gumroad once payment completes.

Licence

Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to read, store and print the file for your own use. You may not resell it, redistribute it, upload it, or reproduce it for others. The text, illustrations and design remain the property of Earl Rich.

Educational purpose

The manual is educational and informational. Composting results vary widely by climate, season, soil and the material to hand, and every temperature, timing and quantity printed in the book is the centre of a range rather than a setting on a machine. Follow the hygiene guidance in the book exactly, keep the material listed on the Never List out of a backyard heap, and never spray leachate on food crops. Check your own local guidance before composting manure, before composting weeds listed as invasive in your area, and before accepting bulk outside material or selling finished compost, which is a regulated activity in many places. Nothing here is medical, veterinary, agricultural or legal advice, and you are responsible for your own decisions and for complying with the rules where you live.

Payment and support
